Alumni Feedback: who was on the team in the 2008?
Any alumni who participated in Overdrive (2008) please respond to Chef's question with your competition experience from that year - Lara? Ken?

Off the top of my head, the only team I can think of was very successful was 1114, which we have a mimic of in one of the sheds. The overpass was 6.5' though, so the power from the slingshot mechanism would be excessive if you wanted three assists. If you wanted to pass the ball, take a look at exploding bacon back in 2008: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XxRBPF0cdaQ. It's also worth noting these balls are much smaller than the trackballs back then, so teams won't have to compensate for weight or diameter as much as before.

for passing a ball i think a robot like team 67 in 2008 would be quite sawweet since it can easily go over truss/ roll ball to team mate and can easily line up to push the ball in net but im still not sure about shooting rules (havent got there yet) without being stopped by defenders(they were the losers to 1114 at einstein)
also not sure about how auton would play our for them

this robot demonstrates my liking towards the big arm idea that basically does it all
although for that year i would disagree that a big arm is bad but for this years' needs i think it could work out
on further inspection of manual robots actively participating in scoring cannot be higher than 5 ft
