Ok, I'll go first, they should be able to write a basic "Hello World" program in the first couple months

Sorry Jacob Razz This is just off the top of my head, I will probably add more later
Year 1
1. Able to change connection settings in order to connect to the robot
2. Able to change macros
3. Ability to create simple algorithms to solve small problems
4. Able to identify most syntax errors and how to fix them
5. Proper commenting
6. Ability to understand and explain all of the concepts outlined in Brendan's tutorials (except maybe arrays Razz )
7. Ability to look at the code and understand what is happening and why

Year 2
1. Able to program a simple tank drive
2. Able to create simple blocks of code for the robot
3. Able to use functions (->Get)
4. Proper structure of code
5. Ability to identify errors (other than syntax errors) and know how to fix them

Year 3
1. Able to program the more complex robot parts
2. Able to identify all code problems and come up with a solution to fix them
3. Able program the robot independently and effectively
4. Able to answer all code questions

Year 4
1. Teach other students

For year 3 you should add "the ability to code swerve drive, and mecanum"

Learning how to do basic things in Java might be a requirement, seeing as we're trying to do the camera in Java.

We should also have a programming "question"(not test) that each year needs to do. It could be on the actual robot, on a console application, or on a graphic API. The difficulty of the question would vary based on their year. The question would just show how well they can make algorithms for different situations.
